Springfield, Missouri
Rotaract is an international organization of service clubs for men and
women aged 18-30 that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, encourages high
ethical standards in business and promotes international understanding and peace.
Rotaract is a program of Rotary International. Rotaract Clubs work under
the guidance of their local Rotary Club, and take their name from a combination of the
words Rotary and action. The first officially chartered Rotaract Club was in North
Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1968, but clubs of young people associated in service with
local Rotary Clubs had existed for several years in India and Europe.
Meeting Date: 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the Month
Meeting Time: 12 - 1 pm
Meeting Location: Bass Pro Shops in Uncle Buck's
Auditorium. Parking is available on the south side of the building
behind the Catalog Outlet.

On February
15, 2009 Rotaract Club of Springfield was awarded the 2008 Star Volunteer Award
by Boys & Girls Town of Missouri. The Star Award is given each year to
recognize organizations in the community which have given time to volunteer and
support the efforts of Boys & Girls Town of Missouri. (Pictured Rotaract

Welcome New Members
Nathan Zoromski graduated from Iowa State University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in business, major in finance and minor in child and family development. He was very involved in student government, lobbying the state legislature and an array of philanthropic organizations in college. From 2007-2008, Nathan worked for Children’s Hospital Services within the Pediatric Ward at CoxHealth. From 2008 until present, Nathan works with disabled children and teens as a Youth Advocate at the Southwest Center for Independent Living (SCIL). In addition to coordinating youth services at SCIL, Nathan is also a member of the Regional Center Advisory Council, legislative chair of the Missouri Rehabilitation Association, Chair of the Regional Transition Network, board member of the Special Education Parent Teacher Association and member of the American Society for Public Administration. Nathan will be completing his coursework for a Master’s of Public Administration at Missouri State University in the Fall of 2011. In his free time, Nathan enjoys exercising at the YMCA and going on walks with his lovely wife, Heather.
