Professional Development
A club's professional development activities should expand the members
understanding of the work environment and business opportunities within
the community. The committee facilitates the goal by coordinating
the program for each meeting. Speakers from various facets of the
community bring the knowledge of heir industry or organization to our
members each meeting.
Community Service
As a service club, our primary goal is to serve those in need. Each
year, Rotaract chooses a not-for-profit organization that serves youth in
our community. We work on projects throughout the year that benefits
the organization financially and provides an opportunity for interaction
between the kids and our members. We also work on joint service
projects with the other Rotary Clubs in Springfield.
Social
The social committee coordinates a variety of events throughout the year
so that members get to know one another and develop long-lasting business
and personal relationships. Functions include happy hours, the
annual induction banquet and casino party, and the family picnic.
When opportunities arise for our members to network with other Rotary
Clubs, this committee puts together the plan to allow this to happen in a
social fashion.
Membership
This committee plans strategies for membership development and retention.
Responsibilities include helping to maintain current members, following up
and reaching out to potential members, sharing the message and mission of
the club, and making sure that everyone feels welcome at meetings and
events.
Athletic
This committee focuses on the spirit of teamwork and the opportunity to
participate in and activity that promotes the health and well-being of our
members. Events include a basketball tournament in conjunction with
the other Rotary Clubs and the formation of a softball team. Each
year, the committee can also choose to organize other team sports that are
of interest to our members.
